2000's Racing Nostalgia Done Right - Heatwarped Demo Full Playthrough & Showcase

Just look at the map, it's like Olympic City from NFSU and Bayview from NFSU2 put into a blender. But I'm not saying this is a bad thing, especially if the gameplay is fun and these are some tasty nachos. Heatwarped really taps into that early 2000s racing game vibe despite being a new, albeit indie, racing game. Handling feels responsive and tight, sense of speed is intense, track design is really good, what more could you want. The only con, if I could even count it as such, is the lack of licensed vehicles and music, for obvious reasons. It's no surprise some of the staying power snd main appeal of the older NFS games (and racing games in general) is the real world vehicles. And while that's not what truly makes a racing game enjoyable IMO, it is what sells said racing games sadly, arcade or otherwise, because most racing game fans are superficial like that. So Heatwarped, despite ticking all the right boxes on the gameplay and aesthetic department, has an upward battle to fight if it wants as a racing game to be recognized by more than just those nostalgic for PS2 era racing games.
