Philip Glass / Paul Leonard-Morgan - Always Here for You (Arr. for Piano Solo) from the original soundtrack to Tales from the Loop. 🎼 About the music Tales from the Loop is a 2020 science-fiction drama series inspired by the retro-futurist artwork of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. The story takes place in the fictional town of Mercer, Ohio, built around an underground experimental physics facility known as the Loop. The score was composed by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan. Unlike the electronic sound one might expect from a science-fiction soundtrack, the music is deeply rooted in acoustic instruments, particularly piano, cello and violin, surrounded by subtle orchestration. The result is melancholic, mysterious and remarkably human. Always Here for You appears as track 24 on the original soundtrack and is one of the pieces credited to both Glass and Leonard-Morgan. The music from the series also inspired an unusual number of piano interpretations online. Paul Leonard-Morgan himself eventually returned to the score and created Tales from the Loop (Solo Piano Version), released in 2024, arranging fourteen pieces from the soundtrack for solo piano. His music is characterized by repetition, gradual harmonic movement and an extraordinary ability to create emotional tension from relatively simple musical material. Paul Leonard-Morgan is a Scottish composer and producer known for his work in film and television. His collaborations with Glass on Tales from the Loop produced a score in which the two musical languages blend remarkably naturally.
