December 21, 1992. Christy Mirack, a 25-year-old first-grade teacher in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is killed in her townhouse on the last school day before Christmas — with her coat on and presents for her students by the door. Her killer leaves his DNA. For 25 years, it matches no one.
In 2018, weeks after the Golden State Killer arrest, genetic genealogist CeCe Moore traces the DNA through a family tree to one man: a popular local wedding DJ. An undercover trooper waits at an elementary school event while he chews gum and drinks from a water bottle. This is the full story of the Christy Mirack case: the investigation, the genealogy breakthrough, the arrest of "DJ Freez", the guilty plea — and his failed attempt to take it back.
