May 2, 2001. Leslie Preer, 49, is found dead in her home in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She fought back, and under her fingernails investigators find the DNA of an unknown man. The case goes cold. In 2002, a tip names her daughter's former high school boyfriend. He is never interviewed. Twenty-three years later, Montgomery County cold case detectives trace the DNA through a family line in Romania, collect a water bottle at Dulles Airport, and sit Eugene Gligor down in an interview room. This documentary includes excerpts from the real police interview.
