EVERY BAD PERSON WAS ONCE A GOOD PERSON | Dag Heward-Mills

Bishop Dag tells the story of an old man who warned him to cut down a tree near his house because it had shallow roots. He ignored the advice, and when a storm came, the tree was uprooted and fell right on the house. He uses this to pose a question that has haunted people for centuries: where does the devil come from? The answer is unsettling and simple - every bad person was once a good person. The raw material for evil is goodness itself. He compares it to a plane crash investigation, where experts search the ocean floor to find what went wrong. If the world treats a crash that seriously, how much more should we investigate when someone falls away in ministry. A sobering call to be deeply rooted.
