Caller Says "Common Sense" Proves God?! | Paulogia & Austin Archer

Original Episode Here: https://youtube.com/live/FUwy1W-A2RU A caller who identifies as Christian phones into the show to ask the hosts whether their atheism is based on studying scripture or is a general position. The hosts describe their religious backgrounds — one raised in a high-demand religion who read the Bible in full, the other a former competitive Bible memorizer and Bible college attendee — and explain that their lack of belief stems from moral objections to biblical content and an absence of empirical evidence for God. The caller argues that religion is necessary for civil morality and that the existence of natural phenomena implies a designer deserving gratitude. The hosts ask him to provide evidence rather than assertions of wonder. The conversation covers the doctrine of hell, the Bible's historical use to justify slavery, and the relationship between Christian nationalism and a recent white-nationalist march in Washington, D.C. The hosts conclude that the caller's stated beliefs do not match biblical text and instead resemble a self-constructed belief system, and they tell him he does not need the Bible to be a good person.
