The Design Challenges now have some pretty irregular numbers of winners. I wonder if its based on the mood of the people in charge. In any case, it seems as though we won't be having 48 winning entries per contest anymore. This time, there are 35 entries. That means I filled up this shelf and...almost filled up the next one.
The theme for this one is normal-length. This means that the wick to the bomb at the bottom appears as soon as the microgame starts.
1. "Crunch Time" from Chris: This microgame is kind of difficult to play, again because of the stationary buttons. Because the cereal falls from random spots, this microgame is sometimes unwinnable.
2. "Pie Thief" from Justin: You have to click on the thief. I clicked on the pie at first, but it didn't work. Hey, do people still leave pies by the windowsill?
3. "S.O.Invaders" from Dave: I wasn't sure what to blow up at first. After all, that floating city doesn't scream "evil empire." It looks like it's got some exciting night life. That glowing orb of mystery though...
4. "Snooze&Lose" from John-Boy: Sometimes I get to the clock first. Sometimes, the hand gets to the clock first. I haven't figured it out.
5. Home Survey" from Matthew: I can't tell if this is a pun or not. The possibilities I've seen are the bed, the lamp and the cabinet.
6. "Par One" from ZMan: There are a ot of golf microgames out there, but they never fail to impress me. Everything about them is so intricate...just like golf, in a sense.
7. "PAPER-SAURUS" from Rich T: The bell is quiet. I was actually expecting something like a church bell or an alarm.
8. "Ceratopsians" from Zachary: Clearly a dinosaur buff. They're kind of hard to tell apart from the side though.
9. "Mini M vs DK" from DJ-*-Nite: This is based on Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. It plays very much like Lemmings, if you remember that.
10. "Locked Up" from Nathan: Just getting the key wins the microgame. You don't really need to get Link to the door.
11. "Avoid it!!" from Steven: You may remember this from an earlier Showcase video. I have been informed that you need not do anything to win. Turns out my informant was correct.
12. "Mii Channel" from MATTHEW: Any set of eyes would work. I was pleasantly surprised to see this referenced of all things.
13. "Link's Awake" from Prince M.: This is from Link's Awakening. At the beginning of the game, you could just have Link sleep in for as long as you wanted. That isn't terrible interesting though.
14. "Ninja Ninjoe" from Mr. Shins: He ducks for a pretty short amount of time. It's hard to tell at first.
15. "G Corp IV" from Pi-Face: I don't get what the name has to do with anything. What's G Corp, and were there three of them before this one?
16. "Tiptoe Go" by 123James: He wins nearly all of them. How does he do it?
17. "Milk'nCereal" from Jeff: To be honest, I pour in way more milk than that. The bowl isn't even half full!
18. "Bit Space" from Matthew: A third one...Anyway, you lose if you get the saucer up too high or too low. No cheating! I guess.
