Hi, I'm Waka! This time I rode the little Eizan Railway out of Kyoto Japan to Yase, and visited Rurikoin — a temple where the garden reflects on a polished table.
In October the maples are still green, and far fewer people come.

🍃 Green maples, not red
In October the maples at Rurikoin are still green. Almost every photo you see shows a table glowing red, but the green season is just as quiet — and far less crowded.
🚃 The Maple Tunnel
The Eizan Railway splits in two at Takaragaike. I took the Main Line to Yase-Hieizanguchi, but the other branch, the Kurama Line, runs north toward Kifune and Kurama. Between Ichihara and Ninose a 250-metre stretch is called the Maple Tunnel, and in autumn the train turns off its lights and slows down to pass through the red leaves.
If you enjoyed this quiet morning in Yase, I'd love it if you subscribed for more silent vlogs from Japan 🇯🇵
