The day begins on gently rolling, mostly flat roads, passing through orchards and quiet poplar groves. A gradual climb leads us to Cassine, a medieval town perched above the Bormida Valley — a lesser-known gem of Piemonte. Beyond Cassine, the route winds deeper into the zigzagging world of Monferrato’s vineyards, where each turn opens to sweeping views across the region’s distinctive patchwork hills.
