Cycling Piemonte: Acqui Terme to Alba (Day 4) Day 4 of our Piemonte Barolo & Truffles cycling journey takes us from Acqui Terme to Alba, tracing the beautiful Bormida Valley with the Alps in view for much of the ride. We follow narrow, peaceful country roads into the Alta Langa, a region celebrated for its hazelnut orchards — the birthplace of Nutella. The route winds through this quiet countryside to Cortemilia, in the province of Cuneo, where the famous hazelnut cake is a cherished local tradition. From Cortemilia, we climb to Castino, one of the panoramic “balconies” of the Langhe, offering sweeping views across vineyards and valleys.
