Abstract: The specialty optical fiber market is a growing and continuously changing market, both in fiber specifications and types as well as volumes. This talk will discuss these challenges related to manufacturing equipment and production set-up. In addition, the talk will touch on future needs in the industry for new and future applicants and researchers. Kevin Boll is the product manager of the specialty fiber group in Rosendahl Nextrom, which is the world leader in optical fiber manufacturing equipment. He has extensive background in manufacturing equipment and has been in the optical fiber industry for over 15 years. He has been published in leading fiber publications and presented at various conferences around the world.
