Bright Star (with Siri Undlin (Humbird))

Sarah Irvine - Bright Star PRE-ORDER 'PAINTED LIGHT': https://sarahirvine.bandcamp.com/ (Arriving Oct 2026) Inspired by W.B. Yeats’ poem ‘When You Are Old’, this song is a quiet plea to a lost love; a prayer to memory and its ghost of the future. Recorded in a lounge room in Edinburgh on a cold winter morning with Siri Undlin (Humbird). Lyrics When you are old and tired in your bones Your stories wrinkled on your skin Will you recall, the shape and the fall Or think of things that might have been I saw something bright, something so true In your eyes In the look they once knew I fancy life, is a gentle knife That often moves in swift So, take your prose And sew it into my clothes That I might carry magic on my back I saw something bright, something so true In your eyes In the look they once knew I’ve known my truth, as the bottom of my shoes But in the dust, how I doubt To find love true, amidst a tangle of blue Was surely a bright star in my heart Written by Sarah Irvine Released August 7th, 2026 Credits Sarah Irvine – Guitar, Vocals Siri Undlin – BVs Video and sound - Dan Abrahams Notice: This recording and its composition are the intellectual property of Sarah Irvine.
