John Davies - Barratt's Privateers

Week 157 of Sunday Covers is something a bit different. I was challenged by the presenter of a folk show in Norfolk to produce a version of a song of his choosing which he will then play on his radio programme. He chose a song by the late Canadian songwriter and musician Stan Rogers. The song is Barratt's Privateers. This was way out of my comfort zone because it is a modern day shanty which is not normally my bag. I took to the challenge though and produced an arrangement which hopefully does justice to the song whilst putting my stamp on it.
