What was Jesus declaring when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey?
In Mark 11, Jesus enters Jerusalem in a moment filled with prophecy, symbolism, and purpose. What we often remember as Palm Sunday was actually a declaration that Jesus is the King God had promised.
In this message, we explore the Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Jesus, the significance of the donkey, and why Jesus’ journey to the cross was not an accident. He knew what was waiting for Him in Jerusalem, and He willingly walked toward it.
The Triumphal Entry also challenges us to consider what it means to truly call Jesus King. Are we willing to trust Him when we do not understand His plan, or do we still want to remain in control?
Jesus went to the cross as a willing King, not a helpless victim. And one day, He will return as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
