The Top 30 songs with 5 extras by The Beatles, Donovan, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Cream from the surveys of LA radio station KHJ for weeks ending May 7, 14, 21 and 28 of 1969. (LA station KFWB changed its programming to all news on March 11, 1968 while KRLA surveys are unavailable for this month.) Unlike for my books, Ranking the ‘60s and Ranking the ‘70s (with Bill Carroll), in which a weighted ranking system was used, I used a simple reverse ranking system, assigning 1 point to No. 30, 2 points to No. 29, etc. I kept it simple since we’re dealing with four weeks rather than a longer duration, like a year. For this month, no songs were copy-protected so I didn't have to bring in covers. That could change at any time because one never knows when a copyright challenge may come. *Decade Rank is from my book, Ranking the '60s: A Comprehensive Listing of the Top Songs and Acts from Pop's Golden Decade.
