The Academic Year Is Finally Over… and the Holiday Journey Begins! ✈️❤️ The academic year has finally come to an end, and you know what that means… HOLIDAY TIME! 🎉 After a long and eventful school year, it was finally time to pack my bags and begin my journey from Nairobi to India. But before leaving, I received the sweetest surprise from one of the parents. Instead of the usual cake, I was blessed with a beautiful cheese board! 🧀❤️ Something completely different and honestly such a lovely gesture. It was such a thoughtful way to end the academic year. And then… the journey began! I got an entry to the Aspira Lounge, and I have to say, they were incredibly kind and welcoming. Of course, I was looking forward to relaxing, having some breakfast and enjoying a little airport comfort before my flight. BUT… For the first time in the history of all my travels, I was actually worried that I might MISS MY FLIGHT! 😱 Yes… ME! That was definitely a lesson learnt. Sometimes we become so comfortable with our travel routine that we forget that airports can still surprise us! Thankfully, everything worked out, and I managed to enjoy some breakfast at the lounge before heading for take-off. And because I always like to carry a little bit of home with me, I had my own breakfast packed as well. So yes, there was MORE FOOD! 😂 Then came one of my favourite parts of travelling… Making friends on the flight! ✈️ I don't know how I do it, but somehow I always end up chatting with people while travelling. Every journey seems to come with a new conversation and a new little connection. After a comfortable flight, we finally landed in Mumbai. And Mumbai welcomed me in the most Mumbai way possible… WITH RAIN! 🌧️❤️ Instead of complaining, I decided to simply go with the flow and enjoy it. The airport is also undergoing some changes, and thankfully this time the walking distance wasn't too much. Thank God! 😂 But what really caught my attention was the aesthetic look of the airport. There were so many beautiful details around, and I couldn't help but stop and admire them. And then came the moment I was waiting for… I was welcomed by my husband! ❤️ Of course, we also had our usual little travel ritual — I had brought some savouries from Nairobi because, as you probably already know, I absolutely LOVE carrying Nairobi snacks and savouries with me when I travel! From there, the real journey began. We made our way through the metro, then onto the train, and eventually reached the platform. And guess what? The platform was practically waterlogged! 🌧️😂 But that's travel for you. Sometimes everything goes according to plan, and sometimes you just have to embrace whatever comes your way. Finally, after all the travelling, we made our way to Navsari. And honestly, by this point, I was simply excited. Excited to be back. Excited for the holiday. Excited for everything that was waiting ahead. This was just the beginning of the journey, and I already knew there were going to be plenty of stories, food, places, surprises and memories along the way.
