NAWASA has commissioned a new 500,000-gallon water storage tank at Peggy’s Whim, St. Patrick, marking another significant milestone in Grenada’s efforts to strengthen water security, improve supply reliability and build resilience against the impacts of climate change. Constructed under the Grenada Climate-Resilient Water Sector (G-CREWS) Project, the facility is designed to increase water storage capacity and strengthen the water distribution system serving St. Patrick and neighbouring communities, including parts of St. Andrew. For years, communities served by the system experienced water supply challenges, particularly during periods of intense rainfall when blockages at the Cha Cha and Zulu dams disrupt production and distribution. The additional storage capacity will help NAWASA better manage these disruptions, improve supply reliability and strengthen the system's ability to respond to changing weather conditions, including prolonged dry spells. Watch the highlights of the commissioning and hear how this investment is helping to build a stronger, more resilient water supply system for St. Patrick and surrounding communities.
