Walking Yerevan | An Unexpected Exhibition & Hidden City Moments (4K)

Sometimes the best city walks are the ones that don’t go according to plan. ✨ We started this evening in the heart of Yerevan’s Republic Square, where people were stopping for a drink from the familiar Pulpulak fountains. From there, we wandered past the National Gallery, sculptures, fountains and the famous square clock, hoping to stay long enough to see Republic Square’s beautiful nighttime water, light and music show. But the walk had another surprise waiting for us. While exploring the nearby streets, we noticed a crowd outside a building that once housed the Iranian Consulate. It turned out to be the last day of the “Harvest & Kids” exhibition, so naturally, we stepped inside. What followed was one unexpected room after another: intricate patterns and mirrorwork, mysterious faces, green apples, handwritten messages from visitors, a dark room with a DJ, one person dancing while another meditated, and vintage televisions that turned us into part of the exhibition ourselves. We even attempted our own little horror-movie scene in front of one of the old TVs… but keeping a straight face turned out to be the hardest part. 😄 Back outside, two beautiful vintage cars and the surrounding architecture gave the street an almost timeless feeling before we made our way back toward Republic Square. We never quite stayed late enough for the fountain show—but Yerevan gave us another ending instead: two young musicians playing the hang drum among the evening crowd.
