East out of Duncans Mills, Highway 116 stays close to the Russian River under a canopy of redwoods before the trees give way, mile by mile, to open vineyard rows on the last stretch into Windsor. This 1 hour 27 minute dash cam drive covers Highway 116 from Duncans Mills to Windsor, California, through Guerneville, Forestville, and the heart of the Russian River Valley wine country. Brown noise runs underneath the full route, long enough for a complete night's sleep. Journey Highlights: 📍 Location: Highway 116, Duncans Mills to Windsor, California 🎥 Vantage Point: Top-center windshield mount, beside the rearview mirror, forward-facing 🌅 Event: Redwood river canyon into Russian River Valley vineyards Traveler's Note: This footage was captured in November 2025, driven start to finish with no stops edited out. The natural road audio has been replaced with brown noise, so the drive plays clean rather than loud. 🌿 Join Your Sanctuary Collective 🌿 Sanctuary Slow TV is the visual heart of our mission to provide personal sanctuary retreats. The first half follows the Russian River through Monte Rio and Guerneville under a closed canopy of coast redwoods — some of the tallest living things on the planet — with the two-lane road hugging every bend the river makes. Guerneville itself grew up as a Bay Area summer escape a century ago, and the redwood-shaded resort feel of the town hasn't changed much since. Past Forestville the character shifts fast. What used to be pear, cherry, and apple orchards is now planted almost entirely in pinot noir and zinfandel, and the road opens up into the rolling vineyard country of the Russian River Valley AVA, one of Sonoma County's most planted wine regions, with vines running right up to the highway shoulder in places. That river-canyon-to-vineyard transition, redwoods thinning into open rows of grapevines over the course of about forty minutes, is the spine of this hour-and-a-half drive — two distinct Sonoma County landscapes on the same road. #BrownNoise #RussianRiverValley #SanctuarySlowTV #SleepAid #YourSanctuaryCollective #RobbietheBird
