铁西区是辽宁沈阳，甚至全国的工业脊梁，这里诞生了新中国的很多个第一。铁西区以建设大路为线，北边是工厂生产区，南边是生活居住区。上世纪50年代，在只有三条马道的菜地上，拔地而起楼上楼下电灯电话的工人村，这些小楼至今仍然在使用。因为是老的居民区，这里也有很多老味美食。老式的麻辣烫，双面蛋煎刀削面，铁锅炖笨鸡排骨，都是铁西特别的东北美食。 Tiexi District serves as an industrial backbone, not only for Shenyang, Liaoning, but for all of China, having been the birthplace of many firsts for the newly founded People's Republic. Jianshe Avenue acts as a dividing line for the district, to the north lie the industrial production zones, while to the south are the residential areas. In the 1950s, a Workers' Village, featuring buildings equipped with electric lights and telephones, sprang up on what was once farmland crisscrossed by only a few dirt paths, these structures remain in use to this day. As an established residential quarter, the area is also home to many traditional, nostalgic delicacies. Classic style Malatang, knife cut noodles with pan fried eggs, and hearty, iron pot stewed free range chicken with pork ribs are all quintessential Northeast Chinese dishes unique to Tiexi.
