1965 Schwinn Varsity Coppertone!

greetings here is a big project bike that we will work on together. settle in its gonna be a while. i dont have many of the parts for this and i will do my best to bring it back to near original condition. the frame is a 21" so i will most likely sell this one when its done. I kept mentioning the "suicide shifters" but bike experts will disagree the suicide shifters were for top derailleurs and was just a rod with a plastic knob on it and you would look down and move the rod to shift the top 3 or top 2 gears on the chainring. but somewhere along the line folks did refer to the down tube shifters as suicide shift as well ,i have heard it described both ways. anytime your not looking at the road ahead of you its not a good idea so i can see this description working both ways. as always the radiant coppertone color in decent shape is wonderful.i will have to research if this bike came with center pull brakes ,i dont think it did. thanx for watching ! we might actually do some work on the next video.
