Bhadra's Hidden Boat Safari: Beyond the Jeep | Elephants, Raptors & River Terns

We leave the jeep behind and take to the waters of Bhadra Tiger Reserve for a completely different kind of wildlife safari. From the Bhadra reservoir, the landscape opens up to a world of wildlife that is difficult to experience from the road — River Terns hunting over the water, tiny chicks around the breeding colony, elephants along the shoreline, and a remarkable variety of birds and mammals. During this boat safari, we encounter River Terns, cormorants, ibis, deer, peafowl, elephants, darters, gaur, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Osprey, Brahminy Kite hunting with a fish, wild boar and more. One of the highlights comes when a Brahminy Kite successfully catches a fish, while the River Tern colony gives us a glimpse into the breeding season on the reservoir.
