이번 주는 정말 ‘덥다’는 말을 입에 달고 살았던 한 주였습니다. 38~39도를 넘나드는 날씨에 ‘그냥 덥다’보다는 **‘더워 죽을 것 같다’**는 말이 훨씬 더 잘 어울렸던 날들. 더위를 피해 잠시 계곡으로 나가 소소하게 피서를 즐기고, 4일 내내 출장을 다녀오느라 정신없이 한 주가 지나갔습니다. 그래도 해가 지고 나면 어김없이 정원으로 나갔어요. 하루라도 물을 건너뛰면 다음 날 고꾸라지는 식물들 덕분에(?) 더위 속에서도 물주기는 계속됩니다. 그리고 아기새들은 이제 모두 날아간 줄 알았는데… 한 마리가.... 주말에는 태풍 덕분에 모처럼 시원한 바람이 불어주어 친구와 마당에서 고기도 구워 먹고, 선선해진 여름밤에는 다시 정원으로 나가 가드닝을 즐겼습니다. 낮에는 도저히 엄두가 나지 않던 정원일도 해가 지고 바람이 불면 할 만하더라고요. 아마 다음 주면 다시 더위가 몰려오겠지만, 그래도 입추를 지나고 이제 곧 처서입니다. ‘덥다’는 말을 조금씩 줄이고 ‘시원하다’는 말을 더 많이 하게 될 날도 머지않았겠지요. 이번 여름도 이렇게 한 고비씩 지나가고 있습니다. 🌿 #결이고운가 #정원노동자 #정원일상 #정원브이로그 #가드닝 #가드닝브이로그 #시골생활 #전원생활 #양평살이 #주택정원 #정원꾸미기 #여름정원 #폭염 #무더위 #여름나기 #계곡피서 #여름밤 #여름밤가드닝 #정원생활 #꽃이있는집 #일상브이로그 #주간브이로그 This week was all about the heat. With temperatures rising to 38–39°C, saying “it’s hot” just didn’t seem enough. “I feel like I’m going to melt” was probably more accurate. We escaped the heat for a little while with a simple trip to a cool mountain stream, and then spent four busy days away on a business trip. The week flew by before I knew it. But even on the busiest days, the garden still needed me. Once the sun went down, I headed back outside to water the plants. In this kind of heat, skipping even one day of watering meant finding wilted plants the next morning. And just when we thought all the baby birds had finally flown away… there was still one left behind. Over the weekend, thanks to the typhoon, a cool breeze finally came through. We grilled meat in the yard with a friend and enjoyed some gardening on a pleasantly cool summer evening. Gardening in the daytime was simply too much, but once the sun went down and the breeze picked up, the garden felt like a completely different place. The heat will probably come back again next week, but we’ve already passed Ipchu, the beginning of autumn according to the traditional Korean calendar, and Cheoseo is just around the corner.
