Spark Award 2020 - Chemical tools for fibrosis and tumour imaging

The Spark Award 2020 of ETH Zurich stands for the most promising invention, which was filed for a patent in 2019. The presented technology is among the top 5 nominees. The video features the work of Professor Helma Wennemers and Dr. Matthew R. Aronoff from the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences. The presented technology is a fluorescence marker for fibrosis or cancer in tissues. The marker allows surgeons and scientists to distinguish visually the healthy from the unhealthy tissue.
