A $400 drone changed the war in Ukraine. The Pentagon has the money, the program and the orders to buy tens of thousands of them — so why have two in five of the first orders still not been accepted?
The answer isn't money, and it isn't bureaucracy. It's parts. Ukraine builds its drones from cheap Chinese motors, batteries and cameras made by the million. The U.S. military is barred from using them, and the allied parts it is allowed to buy cost more and aren't being made fast enough. This video follows the Pentagon's own delivery tracker, program documents and officials to show where the drones are stuck — and the two decisions the West now has to make.
