Some of these throws are traditionally not koshi-waza/hip techniques, but the variations I’m doing in this video use the hip to execute the throw, (like ippon seoi nage for example) so don't flame me in the comments. Let me know if you guys like this type of video where I show a bunch of techniques in succession, and drop a comment if you'd like to see anything next! Thanks for watching as always... OSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Hip throws/Koshi-waza are in my opinion, the most devestating and powerful style of throws in judo. In contrast to leg techniques (Ashi-waza) and hand techniques (Te-waza) that can be characterized by appearing very graceful and fluid, hip throws in my mind are associated with power and raw force. That's not to say that hip throws are not graceful or fluid... all throws should of course posses these qualities, but when you think of koshi-waza, you think of massive, crowd-pleasing, epic throws that shake the very arena and form a judoka-sized crater on the mat, like something out of an anime. These are the moments that made me fall in love with this sport and this is why they are my favorite style of throw. Utsuri-goshi in particular is my favorite throw... one of the best feelings in the world is when your opponent enters for a throw, doesn't get it, gets too close to you, and now you have them wrapped up and are in full control of their torso... they're squirming around in your arms, desperately trying to break free from your clutches, then you channel all of your power, will, inner rage, and concentration to execute the utsuri-goshi and absolutely bomb them into the underworld. Say hi to Cerberus for me. This is the feeling I'm constantly chasing and why I train so hard. Most people will never understand and that's okay, but for those that do, man... that's straight euphoria to the bloodstream baby. Bottle that up and stick it in my IV. I didn't use any AI to create this video or write the description (except to edit the thumbnail). Beginner Throws: O-Goshi (Big hip) Koshi-Guruma (Hip wheel) Uki-Goshi (Floating hip throw) Intermediate Throws: Ippon Seoi-Nage (One arm over the back throw) Harai-Goshi (Hip sweep) Seoi-Otoshi (Shoulder drop) Advanced Throws: Sode-Tsurikomi-Goshi (Sleeve lifting and pulling hip throw) Hane-Goshi (Hip Spring) Ushiro-Goshi (Rear hip throw) Utsuri-Goshi (Changing hip throw) #hipthrows #judothrows #koshiwaza Watch my Technical Analysis of Gollum's Grappling in The Lord Of The Rings! ►    • Technical Analysis of Gollum's Grappling i...   Connect with me!
