Little access to water & poverty in Kotido, a threat to the Early Child hood Development Policy.

Little access to safe and clean water and poverty in Kotido district are posing a threat to the implementation of early child hood development policy launched recently by government. With a population of close to 200,000 people, only 33% have access to safe water according to the ministry of water and environment. Residents especially women spend much time on water taps and sometimes many go for days without water. During the Early childhood development activation campaign in Kotido, Local governments and different stakeholders in Karamoja region have been urged to integrate Early Childhood Development programs in their planning.
