Painting a Snake in Viridian Green Watercolour Serpentis 🐍 | Raven Foster Art

What happens when you paint a snake using Viridian Green watercolour? 🐍💚 Meet Serpentis, an expressive snake watercolour created on Slytherin Pride Day using Viridian Green. In this start-to-finish painting process, you can watch Serpentis emerge through flowing washes, deep shadows, preserved white paper, expressive marks, splashes and drips. Working with a restricted colour palette turns the focus towards value, shape and contrast rather than relying on lots of different colours. This painting formed part of my Monochrome March wildlife series, where I explored how much character, movement and atmosphere could be created through a deliberately limited palette. And yes, of all the days to paint a green snake, Slytherin Pride Day felt rather spectacularly appropriate. 🐍✨ If you enjoy wildlife watercolour, expressive animal painting, loose watercolour techniques and watching paintings develop from blank paper to finished artwork, I’d love you to subscribe and join me for more. 🎨 Explore Raven Foster Art: https://www.ravenfosterart.com 🛍️ Redbubble: https://www.ravenfosterart.redbubble.com ✨ Join Raven’s Reverie, my newsletter: https://preview.mailerlite.io/forms/1... 📧 Art, licensing and business enquiries: ravenartstudio@hotmail.com Serpentis Original wildlife watercolour by Raven Foster Art Painted in Viridian Green #WatercolourPainting #SnakeArt #WildlifeArt #RavenFosterArt #Watercolour
