Navratri Day 8 Chants | Mahagauri Mantra 108 Times | Durga Ashtami for Peace & Prosperity

On the eighth day of Navratri, Durga Ashtami, devotees worship Maa Mahagauri, the radiant and pure form of Goddess Durga. Fair as the moon and the jasmine flower, dressed in white, she rides a white bull and holds a trident and a damru. After her long penance to win Lord Shiva, her form was washed clean by the waters of the Ganga, leaving her glowing with a pure white light. Mahagauri Mantra and Shloka Jaap are chanted on the eighth day of Navratri. Her mantra is chanted 11 times at the start and end, with her dhyana shloka chanted 108 times (one full mala) in between.
