Discover the story of Judas Maccabeus, the warrior who led his people against powerful armies and fought to defend their faith. This animated Bible story follows Judas Maccabeus through the Maccabean revolt, his greatest victories, the restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem, and his final battle. After his father Mattathias began the resistance, Judas took command and led a small army against enemies with far greater numbers. With his brothers beside him, he faced dangerous battles, rescued threatened Jewish communities, and encouraged his men to trust in God when victory seemed impossible. Follow Judas Maccabeus through the battle at Emmaus and his return to Jerusalem, where he and his followers found the Temple desecrated. They cleansed the sanctuary, rebuilt the altar, and restored worship. This rededication became the foundation of Hanukkah. But the struggle continued. New armies came against Judas and his brothers, bringing more suffering, difficult choices, and war elephants onto the battlefield.
