Sometimes Streetwalkin’ doesn’t need a big event, a festival, a football invasion or some other excuse for downtown Nashville to lose its mind. Sometimes it’s just Friday night. For Streetwalkin’ Ep. 97, we start away from the neon in Public Square Park where we run into some random fireworks before cutting through Printers Alley, passing the Ryman Auditorium and eventually settling in for the rest of the evening on Lower Broadway. From there, it’s one of those nights where the entertainment mostly comes from simply being there. We wander through the Friday-night crowds, meet a few new friends, encounter some particularly photogenic Broadway characters and catch part of the crowd spilling out of Bridgestone Arena after The Red Clay Strays. We also manage to get a little unnecessarily meta. At one point, we stop underneath the On Broadway live cam and look up at it. Then we cut to the live cam itself so we can watch ourselves standing on Broadway looking up at the live cam that is currently watching us. Deep.
