How do you create a PowerPoint from a Word document with Copilot? In this lesson I open my company template first, then type a slash in the Copilot pane to pick a Word brief and ask for a 10-slide deck: one idea per slide, a title that states the point, no more than 25 words per slide, and a last slide with the three decisions we need. Copilot asks one question first (keep the current style), then builds ten slides on my template in about six minutes. I read every slide and check the numbers. Then I switch to Chat only and ask for the five hardest questions the leadership team will ask. One cost, $12 screen protectors, was in no budget and on no slide, so I switch back to Allow editing and add a slide for it, using only numbers from the brief. In this lesson: Start from your company template, not a blank deck Open Copilot in PowerPoint: Allow editing and Chat only Type / to pick your Word file (it must be saved in OneDrive or SharePoint) The prompt: one idea per slide, a title that states the point Keep the current style, so the deck uses your template Read every slide and check the numbers in the notes Ask for the five hardest questions in Chat only Partial answers vs. missing answers Add the missing slide with Allow editing, using only numbers from the brief Check the new slide's math and Copilot's assumption For managers: check a deck from your team, and ask IT about a brand kit What goes wrong Prompts from this lesson (copy and try them): Create a 10-slide presentation from /[your brief] for the leadership team. One idea per slide, a title that states the point, no more than 25 words per slide, and a final slide with the three decisions we need. Prepare for questions: list the five hardest questions the leadership team will ask about this deck, and which slide answers each one. Tell me if a question has no slide. Add one slide before the last slide that answers question [number]: [what is missing]. Use only numbers from the brief.
