Padmé Amidala - White Mustang (Star Wars)

« So this is how liberty dies : with thunderous applause. » As a birthday present for a friend, here's a brief and concise tribute (blame it on studies !) to one of the most iconic women in George Lucas's galaxy far, far away. Queen of Naboo and later a fiercely committed senator, Padmé Amidala is much more than Anakin's wife or Luke and Leia's mother : she was the first instigator of the rebellion, the one who fought for a more just world, who defended democracy until her very last moments. With her, the entire Republic perished. While the prequel trilogy didn't always give enough time to her political struggle, favoring the lover over the politician, Padmé remains in our memories as one of the saga's most determined heroines, brought to life by a Natalie Portman already brimming with talent.
