Nightfall (Charlie Haden) – tenor sax play-along with improvisations and melodic elaborations. In this video I use Charlie Haden and John Taylor's recording as a foundation to elaborate the melody, adding ornaments, counter-melodies, and small improvisations while adding value and tension. This continues an ongoing project where I explore jazz, classical, and film music through tenor sax improvisation, reharmonization, and personal interpretation. Composition: "Nightfall" is an introspective, melodic jazz composition written by bassist Charlie Haden, featured on his 2001 Grammy-winning album Nocturne and also serving as the title track of his 2004 duo album with British pianist John Taylor. Recording reference: Recorded October 8–9, 2003. Location: Roy O. Disney Music Hall at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia, California.
