Our AI, Jev, died in world one after 97 seconds of hardcore Minecraft. In world two it was alive on day 40 of 100 with four of four iron armor pieces and 0 deaths when our eight-hour recording clock ran out. This is Part 1.
The rules: hardcore on Normal, one life, a fresh world, an empty inventory, no x-ray, a goal of reaching the morning of day 101. A rule we set beforehand gave a death before day 3 one new world, so world two is the second attempt. At every sunset our code asks one question: how sure are you that you see tomorrow? The question is ours; the percentages are the AI's.
How Jev works: Claude (the planner) makes the plans, plain code does the walking, digging and day counting, and Jev, a fast classifier model, handles the reflexes. The overlay shows the probabilities.
Results (all costs are estimates):
World one: died at 1:37 on day 1 to a zombie, no sword. Partly the AI's order to punch it, partly ours: our flee was cancelled by a goal change.
World two: alive on day 40 at the 8:00:02 time cap, 4/4 iron armor, 0 deaths. Iron count: 24 in the run log's final inventory count, while the overlay showed 51 iron ingots at 7:53:20; the logs do not explain the difference.
39 sunsets reached, 39 survived. 34 have a recorded answer, from 88% to 97%; 5 sunsets have no recorded answer.
Day 5: the health readout said zero and the AI lived. The logs do not explain why.
Planner cost: about $24.55 estimated across both worlds (about $0.31 + $24.24). Not counted: the reflex classifier, our agents and the narration. At this pace 100 days would be about 20 hours and over $60 (arithmetic, not a forecast).
Nothing in the logs shows whether it would have reached day 100. The world is saved and a Part 2 is planned.
Our code, not the AI: the day counter, the sunset question and its log, the breath guard, and the cancelled flee in world one. Harness 51f70fed plus uncommitted changes.
