Your Orchestration Is Fine. Your Balance Isn’t. (6 Mockup Fixes)

Every note in this cue is correct — and you still can’t hear the melody. The problem isn’t the orchestration. It’s the balance: how many players, how hard they play, and where they sit. In this video I take one 8-bar orchestral cue, break it on purpose, and fix it in six doublings using three moves: player count, CC1 (modwheel), and spatial placement with convolution reverb. The rule underneath all of it is Rimsky-Korsakov’s: at forte, 1 trumpet ≈ 2 horns ≈ 4 woodwinds ≈ a dozen string players — and it changes everything about how you set CC1 and CC11 in an orchestral mockup.
