Living with What You Cannot Change — Buddhist Wisdom
When something in life cannot be changed — an illness, a loss, a door that will not open again — the question of how to live with it is one of the hardest we face. The Buddha spoke to this directly in the earliest records of his teaching, and much of what he actually said differs from the modern reading that Buddhism is about accepting everything. What emerges from those old discourses is a form of wisdom that stays open to feeling while becoming steady underneath it, available in the space between what has already arrived and what we choose to do next.
