Advocacy, Public Policy, and Independent Schools

Groups like MPPI and State School Alliances bring schools, educators, and advocates together to create a strong and effective voice for high-quality Montessori education. This work helps policymakers understand authentic Montessori practice, removes barriers facing Montessori programs, and advances the larger goal of making fully implemented Montessori education accessible to more children. We will explore questions such as: What policy issues are affecting private schools today? Why should independent school leaders pay attention to public policy? How can we represent and support the Montessori community? What can schools and individual Montessorians do to strengthen advocacy efforts? How might effective policy work expand access without compromising Montessori quality? This will be an opportunity to learn more about the issues shaping Montessori education and how our community can speak with a clearer, more unified voice.
