Composer Alan Silvestri gave Forrest a theme that was much like Forrest himself: simple, gentle, sincere, and quietly hopeful. That beautiful piano melody follows him through some of the biggest moments in American history, yet the music always brings us back to the heart of one very human story. And maybe that's why, more than 30 years later, this music still touches us. It reminds us of Forrest and Jenny, of that feather floating in the breeze, and of a story filled with love, loss, friendship, and unexpected turns. Forrest Gump Suite was recorded live at the "A Night at the Movies" concert at Carlsbad Community Church in Carlsbad, CA on October 17, 2026. The Coastal Communities Concert Band provides its members with the opportunity for musical expression and enjoyment at the highest levels of performance, in a friendly and welcoming environment.
