VIDEO🚨ABASIRIKARE B'UBURUNDI BARI MURWANDA BUGESERA!

Burundian soldiers have joined a regional military logistics exercise in Rwanda, despite continuing tensions between Kigali and Gitega and the closure of their shared land border.** On October 19, 2026, the *Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF)* opened its Logistics Map Exercise at the Rwanda Military Academy in **Gako, Bugesera District**. Running until October 30, the exercise brings together military, police and civilian personnel to strengthen planning for peace support missions, humanitarian assistance and disaster response. Rwanda Updates Media explains why Burundi’s participation attracts attention, tracing the border closure, mutual security allegations and the impact of the conflict in eastern DR Congo on relations between the two neighbours. The report also covers remarks by **General Mubarakh Muganga**, Rwanda’s Chief of Defence Staff, and **Brigadier General Ronald Rwivanga**, EASF Director, on deployment readiness, transport, supplies and medical support. *Important context:* Participation in this exercise does not establish that Rwanda–Burundi tensions have been resolved or that the border is reopening. EASF and the East African Community are different institutions; DR Congo’s absence does not establish that it rejected an invitation. *JOURNALISM DISCLAIMER:* Rwanda Updates Media is committed to factual, balanced reporting and clearly distinguishes verified information from allegations and analysis.
