This episode we're making the frames and formers for the Rideable Vasa. These parts will define the shape of the hull, and provide secure transmission of the rigging forces. Also they look pretty neat. This is part of a project to make a 1:12 scale sailable, human crewed replica of the Vasa. A 17th century, 64 gun, heavily ornamented ship that famously sank on her maiden voyage about 1300 meters from the shipyard in central Stockholm in 1628. A project without failure conditions: Either we sail, which is great. Or we sink, which is historically accurate.
