Building a 16-foot Strongback… it better be straight - Rideable Vasa #5

Building a massive 5-meter torsion beam strongback foundation inside a tight 7x4 meter garage. This is Episode 5 of the Rideable Vasa project, documenting the long-form construction of a 1:12 scale, human-crewed wooden replica of the historic Swedish warship Vasa. Because this manned vessel features a full historical rig with three masts and ten sails the foundation must be perfectly rigid and straight. Today, the real heavy woodworking begins as we source the lumber from Byggmax and get to work in the shop.
