One year ago, this was a patch of woods and some empty raised beds. This fall, it's a garden that fed my family, brought joy to our daycare, and taught me SO much. Here are the 9 biggest lessons from my first year growing food in Zone 7b, from timing and patience to bugs, herbs, and why more is not always more.
I'm on the path to becoming a subsistence and regenerative farmer, and this is only the beginning.
