A Quiet Mind | Freedom Frequency | Soul-Funk

A Quiet Mind is Track 7 from What We Make of It, a 12-song original album by Freedom Frequency. Inspired by the warm, mellow soul-funk of the 1970s, this original song explores the beauty of finding peace in a world that rarely seems to stop talking. Every day, we're surrounded by notifications, opinions, headlines, advertisements and countless voices competing for our attention. There's always something we're supposed to know, something we're expected to worry about or another conversation we're encouraged to join. And somewhere amongst all that noise, it can become difficult to hear our own thoughts. But silence doesn't have to feel empty. Sometimes it's where we rediscover ourselves. A Quiet Mind is about stepping away from the constant stream of information and allowing ourselves the space to simply be. To enjoy an uninterrupted moment, notice the world around us and remember that not everything demands our attention or a response. Created as a response to Turn Off the Noise from the companion album Beyond the Questions, this song explores the quieter side of independence — reclaiming our attention and deciding what deserves a place in our lives. With rich female soul vocals, gentle Fender Rhodes piano, rounded melodic basslines and a relaxed 1970s-inspired groove, A Quiet Mind offers a peaceful moment of reflection within What We Make of It. Because sometimes the most important voice we need to hear is our own. All songs originally written for Freedom Frequency.
