With Papyrus this is Vengeance Route's final main 'boss'. Hopefully this lives up to being basically the last chapter to complete the story. And also for the Papyrus song hype. I do have some other Vengeance Route songs I want to do, including Muffet, another Mettaton, and a better Omega Flowey fight one, but technically this is all the main bosses and story beats done. LYRICS In the cold, the blowing snow, there you stand Smiling bright, arms wide open, like it makes you right Wrapped up in dreams of glory, blinded by the light You want to be a hero, then act like a villain A human who's never hurt you - and you locked the door Call yourself a knight, but do you even know The pain you inflict on your path to glory? Tell me, hero—do you sleep just fine? When you shut your eyes, will you see my face? If you hand me off a prisoner, Will you ever see your hands looking clean? What will you have become? You can walk away, let me go, but you need praise So you lock me away and call it grace Did you ever even ask if this was fair? What kind of a hero attacks an innocent Who never asked for a fight? Call yourself a knight, but do you even know The pain you inflict on your path to glory? Tell me, hero—do you sleep just fine? When you shut your eyes, will you see my face? If you hand me off a prisoner, Will you ever see your hands looking clean? What will you have become? I'm not your quest, not your path to friends I'm a traveler and nothing more, Just trying to go home like I said before So if you want to be noble Don't just stand there in my way Show me that there's still hope for peace So tell me, hero—will you show me your virtue? Or feign ignorance And pretend you don't know That you're capturing a human against her will? When mercy’s easy, you play the saint But where are your ideals when kindness means restraint? Tell me, hero—do you sleep just fine? When you shut your eyes, will you see my face? If you hand me off a prisoner, Will you ever see your hands looking clean? What will you have become? What will you have become? What will you become?
