It is just before sunrise, and the whole valley is about to burn. Two strangers are dragging a family out of a doomed city by the hand. They have one instruction: do not look back. Then, in a single sentence, Genesis tells us what happened to the woman at the back of the line. She looked. And she became a pillar of salt. So why did God do that to her? Was one glance really worth a life? In this video we read the text slowly, because the answer is hiding in the smallest words of the passage: how Lot's family ended up in Sodom, what Sodom really was according to Genesis and Ezekiel, the warning nobody believed, why the command not to look back was actually a rescue, the Hebrew behind that one sentence, what Jesus meant when He said "Remember Lot's wife," why Lot lived and she did not, and what the pillar of salt could really have been at the Dead Sea.
