Vidarbha Tussar is a rare, handwoven wild silk fabric from the Vidarbha region (mainly the Bhandara district) of Eastern Maharashtra, India. Famed for its organic texture and natural golden sheen, it is most famous for featuring the traditional Karvati Kinar (sawtooth-edge) border. Gadwal sarees originated in the town of Gadwal in the Jogulamba Gadwal district of the Indian state of Telangana. The tradition began over 200 years ago under the royal patronage of the Gadwal Samsthanam rulers and local aristocrats.The Maharani of Gadwal, Adhi Lakshmi Devamma, actively promoted the weaving craft and brought in expert weavers from coastal regions like Chirala to train local artisans.The unique handloom style holds a Geographical Indication (GI) tag from Telangana.
