The journey begins in Akron with the abandoned Rubber Bowl, the Soapbox Derby hill, and a historic blimp hangar. We then visit a replica of the Wright brothers’ first airplane before heading to Canton, where an unusual set of football-themed power-line goalposts and the remains of Mother Goose Land offer unexpected sights. Downtown Canton also features “Heads Falling Over,” an artwork honoring the founders of the American Football League. Along the way, we drive a section of the original Lincoln Highway and discover a mustache monument and colorful cow statue in Minerva. The trip continues to historic sites connected to Morgan’s Raid and the Point of Beginning, a significant landmark in the original surveying of western lands. In Wellsville, we see the mysterious Boy in the Boot statue and numerous murals before finishing at the fascinating Rock City near Cadiz. It’s a memorable trip through Ohio’s back roads!
