Hi! I’m Bolo, a working mom living in Japan with my husband and daughter. Another little one is on the way. 🇯🇵 My husband and daughter are off to Australia for a family wedding. I decided to stay home during my pregnancy, though I still wish I could have joined them. Five days to myself for the first time since becoming a mom—this video follows one of those days. A leisurely breakfast with bakery bread, onigiri for my work lunches, and a little café time. I’d already eaten breakfast, but my café drink came with free toast… so I had a second breakfast, haha. My daughter seems perfectly happy without me, which makes Mom a little lonely. 😂 Still, I’m finding small ways to enjoy this time to myself. If you had a few days completely to yourself, how would you spend them? Let me know in the comments. 😊 ──────────────── ▶ IN THE KITCHEN ──────────────── 🥑 Avocado & Cottage Cheese Toast Ingredients used in this video: ・Country bread ・Cottage cheese ・Avocado ・Cherry tomatoes ・Seasonings of your choice I lightly toasted the bread, then topped it with cottage cheese, avocado, and tomatoes. A simple breakfast that felt a little special on a quiet morning. ──────────────── 🍙 Mackerel & Edamame Onigiri Ingredients used in this video: ・Rice ・Mackerel ・Edamame ・Salted kombu (shio kombu) I cooked the rice with mackerel, then mixed in edamame and salted kombu. I shaped the onigiri using plastic wrap and froze them for easy lunches at work. Shio kombu is thinly sliced, seasoned kelp that adds a salty, savory flavor. I like packing plenty of fillings into my onigiri so they make a more nourishing lunch. Making a full bento every morning is a little beyond my energy level, haha. ──────────────── 🎬 Everyday life in Japan, little family moments, and simple home cooking. ──────────────── Thank you for spending a little part of your day with me. 😊 #JapanVlog #DailyLifeInJapan #MomLife #JapaneseHomeCooking #Onigiri
