You DON'T Need a Boat to Visit This Island! 🏝️🚗 | Bribie Island 4WD Adventure #island #islandlife #beach 🏝️🚗 *AN ISLAND YOU CAN DRIVE TO?!* Today we're heading to **Bribie Island**, just north of Brisbane, for a family 4WD adventure — and the best part is you DON'T even need a boat to get there! Bribie Island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, so you can simply drive across and suddenly feel like you've escaped on an island holiday. 🌴🌊 But we weren't just visiting the easy-to-reach parts of the island… Today we're taking the *4WD into Bribie Island National Park* and heading out onto the sand! 🚙💨 Once we hit the 4WD tracks, the adventure really started. We explored the sandy tracks before eventually making our way out onto the beach at low tide. And what an awesome place! 🏖️ Beach driving 🚙 Sandy 4WD tracks 🌊 Swimming in the ocean 🏰 Sandcastle building 🦘 Wildlife spotting 🦎 And one VERY large goanna that scared the absolute crap out of me because I initially thought it was a snake! 😂 The kids even managed to transform themselves into washed-up sea creatures on the beach. 🤦‍♀️😂 Once you're out there, you can find somewhere to stop, park up and enjoy a relaxing day by the ocean. Just remember — *check the tides before beach driving!* Getting stuck as the tide comes in would definitely NOT be the way we'd want to finish this adventure. 😬🌊 There are also parts of Bribie Island that you can explore in a normal car, so you don't necessarily need a 4WD to enjoy the island. You can even catch a Translink bus across the bridge, making Bribie Island a pretty easy island escape from the Brisbane region. But if you want to explore the sandy tracks and beach-driving areas we visited, you'll need to make sure you have the appropriate vehicle, permits and know what you're doing.
